Being Austria’s and probably the world’s only producer to devote his name to a single grape, Grüner Veltliner, was the motivation to have a closer look at this emerging world grape for the "Grüner Men" Dieter Hübler and Laurenz Maria Moser.
Additionally, wine-bloggers from all over the world (e.g. “Grüner Veltliner could be next NZ Sauvignon” by Jane Parkinson, Decanter, Oct. 2011) began to write about Grüners – and not only from Austria.

So, LAURENZ V. went on a half year mission to create a database for Grüners globally. Thanks to the great cooperation from most Grüner producers from around the world the kick-off “GENERATION GRÜNER” tasting in Vienna could be held on July 20, 2012.

We call it “GENERATION GRÜNER” because it is LAURENZ V.’s mission to help bringing this new, sexy and very modern grape to the world and to establish it amongst the great white wine grape varieties. And it is definitely a generation task of a new breed of daring and innovative winegrowers to establish Grüner globally!
